The Wedding

A 3D collage made with magazine clippings and painted landscape shows a bride and groom posing for a photo. The bride is a white woman with long, dark hair pulled back wearing a pearl necklace and a white dress holding a bouquet of white flowers. The groom is a white man with short, dark hair and a goatee wearing a white dress shirt, white dress pants, and a boutonnière with a white flower. They are standing in a patch of greenery and pink flowers. On one side of the couple is a multi level wooden house with a top level porch and railing. On the other side of the couple is a very modern-looking house with a wooden porch and walls made of windows. In the background is snow for miles with some pine trees in the distance and white clouds in the sky.

How To Do It

  • Together, use your imaginations to create an original story based on this picture.
  • Write down your ideas in response to the questions below.
  • Give the story a title and read aloud with emotions the story you just created.
  • The last question asks you to connect the picture to your own stories.

  1. What do you think is going on in this picture?
  2. What names shall we give the bride and groom?
  3. Where do you think this is? Describe the houses on the left and the right of the couple.
  4. Imagine that the couple will move between the two houses after the wedding. Which house will they move into?
  5. What will they say to one another after they make the move? Create a dialog.
  6. What will happen next, after the wedding and after the move?
  7. Share your own memorable stories about moving houses or apartments.
